Lanarkshire Housing Association positively promotes membership in areas of operational activity as an important factor in policy development which leads to a more effective and efficient service, creating a sense of involvement in the decision making process which benefits the organisation.
To become a member of the Association you must reside or own property within Lanarkshire and be at least 18 years old, unless you are already a tenant of the Association, where you can apply for membership from the age of 16. As a member of Lanarkshire Housing Association you would:
- be entitled to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting

- receive a copy of the Association’s annual report and accounts
To apply for membership, an applicant will forward to the Association’s office a duly completed Application Form, along with the sum of One Pound (£1.00) which will be refunded if the application is rejected. An application for membership will not be considered by the Management Committee within the fourteen day period occurring before the date of a general meeting.
Every application for membership will be considered by the Management Committee and will only be approved where the Governing Body is satisfied that the application meets the criteria set out in the Membership Policy.
If the application is approved, you will become a member of the Association and your name will be included in our Register of Members. You will be advised in writing within seven days of the date of the decision and will also receive a Share Certificate and a copy of the Association’s rules.
